Nutrition Program
This program is a major part of our operations and ensures that no senior goes without the necessary daily nutrition. This program has been blessed with the partnership of the San Antonio Food Bank (SAFB) and donations from our local donors (HEB, Super S Foods, Smithson Valley Food Pantry, Adelita’s Flour Tortilla Factory of San Antonio, etc). This program reaches seniors by making sure perishables are not stored too long and are delivered/distributed to the seniors residence. This program has more than tripled its number of senior citizens reached in the past year alone.
Volunteers for Habitat for Safe Seniors have distributed approximately 200,000 pounds of food to our seniors in the first six months of 2010.
