Welcome to Habitat for Safe Seniors
“To provide critically needed services, nutrition, home safety repairs, environmental improvement, and companionship to senior citizens in the Canyon Lake/Comal County Area”. It has been Habitat for Safe Seniors’ goal to improve the quality of life for the elderly, by every means possible, including:
Increasing the awareness of the elderly concerning available resources within their community and provide assistance in accessing such resources.
- -Improve the safety and security of the elderly in their place of residence.
- -Create opportunities for the elderly to interact with children.
- -Improve the mental health of the elderly.
- -Use technology to develop the self-esteem of the elderly by giving them access to information that leads to job opportunities, and counteracts the adverse impacts of isolation.
- -Support the use of animals in assisting the elderly. To be eligible for admission into this program, an applicant must be 55 years of age or older. Priority attention is given to those at 185% of Texcap poverty guidelines. For more information, please call the office.
